The Teddy Bear Picnic
Our students joined the Teddy Bears for a picnic on our 1 acre backyard last Friday. Every child brought their favorite teddy bear and shared in a day of singing, dancing, and games.
We started the day with the history of teddy bears – President “Teddy” Roosevelt saved a bear cub during one of his hunting trips and the story was so popular that a toy designer was inspired to create a stuffed bear. The toy was popularized as the “Teddy Bear”.
Ms. Linda read A Pocket for Corduroy and the children were asked to decorate their own special bear with a pocket. We learned special songs about adventures with the teddy bears and even played a fun game of London Bridge.
The day ended with a delicious pizza picnic outside.
