A 21st century education.

For 20 years, Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield is an award-winning provider of Montessori education in northwest Houston for ages 18 months – 6 years.

We provide an authentic Montessori education to develop a child’s inner powers, self-discipline, and concentration.  We believe children have unlimited potential.  Children should have a joyful environment with intellectual freedom.

Learning for Life

Why Us?

We Have Fun!

In our school, learning is social and active. Children work together daily, developing critical social skills for elementary school and for life.

Room to Play

We have a ½ acre playground, with shady oak trees, for children to learn and play.  We also have covered patios for picnics and outdoor story time. Our spacious, sun-filled classrooms have attached bathrooms and refrigerated water fountains.

STEM Everyday

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education is integrated in our classes everyday. STEM is a part of your child’s all-day routine – not just in one class and part of a specialized curriculum.

A Global Outlook

In the 21st century, children will interact with people from across the globe.  We use current events, cultural festivals, and our International Doll of the Month speaker series to spark conversations on culture and geography, and we celebrate the diverse heritage of our community.

Personal Attention

Our teacher-student ratios are intentionally low to maximize personalized instruction and improve learning outcomes.

Families First

Learning is best when families are involved, and we build relationships with our parents.  Through our Mama Bear program, parents actively contribute to school activities and events.

Teacher Owned-and-Operated

The school is owned-and-operated by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Montessori teachers. Teachers are in leadership roles – so learning (not profit) is always first.

Kindergarten Ready

Our students do well in elementary school. Our students typically transition into Gifted and Talented programs and others skip grades.  Many alumni successfully compete to earn admission to private schools across Houston.

An Early Education

We believe children have unlimited potential – and there’s no better time to educate children than in the early years. The Montessori approach develops reading, writing, and math skills as well as skills in independence, concentration, and grit.

Two of our #LeadershipForKids students launched a campaign in support of the YMCA’s #OperationBackpack. They also designed postcards as a thank you for neighbors who choose to donate. These two young leaders created only 61 limited-edition, handmade postcards. Why? To raise awareness of the 61 million girls who are out of school. And this was… Read More

What Parents Say

We had enrolled our girls in another “Learning Center” and soon realized this was not the proper placement for Cami.  Although it was a nurturing environment, her classroom did not meet her needs educationally, and we knew we needed to do what was in the best interest of our child.  I knew without a shadow of a doubt that we made the right decision when our daughter came home [from Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield]and began to name the bones in a skeleton.

We cannot thank you enough for the love and guidance given to Kaylen during her time spent at the school.  You have provided an environment that has allowed her to grow and blossom.  Kaylen has really enjoyed her time with you and the relationships that have been built will last forever.  She loves Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield and her experiences there have helped to shape her character in a very positive way.

My name is Makenzie Ferguson and I attended this Montessori school as a toddler through Pre-K. My brother and I (who also attended this school) have attended Langham Creek High School, and I will be graduating Summa Cum Laude with honor cords for the Social Studies honor society, Rho Kappa. I have received a full ride scholarship to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and will be enrolled in the engineering program. I hope to graduate as a #MechanicalEngineer and work at an amusement park. I would not be able to get where I am today without the strong foundation I received at this school. Thank you.

You ALL have been such an importance influence on Micah’s education.  She amazes me daily with how high she can count and adjectives she uses to describe the beautiful world we live in.  There is no better place than Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield.  Going to work knowing that she is safe and loved and cared about means so much!!!  We know to some that Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield is their best kept secret, but we will continue to sing the school’s praises to every toddler we meet.

Don't Take Our Word For It.
