International Doll of the Month: The Philippines

The International Doll of the Month for October 2017 represents The Philippines. One of our favorite Lolas (“grandmas”) visited our children to share her memories of The Philippines. Children explored the island archipelago, known for its beautiful beaches, tropical climate, and food reflecting its diverse local heritage and colonial influences. We even learned a few words in Tagalog, one of the official languages of the country.

International Doll of the Month: Mexico

Our May 2017 #InternationalDollOfTheMonth represents Mexico, our neighbor to the south.

The presentation was led by Ms. Maribel and Ms. Alma, who both come from Mexico. Children learned about the physical geography of the country – including its hidden beaches and diverse wildlife – popular Mexican food, like tamales and enchiladas, and its famous dances. Our presenters performed two folk dances, and the children were able to touch traditional dance outfits and dance along too!
