In March 2017, over 200 Cy-Fair residents joined our 5th Annual Children’s Art Show – Deep in the Heart of Texas. The art work celebrated the diverse culture and rich economic history of the second largest state in the United States. Each child worked one-on-one with our Montessori Art Directress to create their painting, showcasing their creativity and skills in color blending and composition.
The event featured Face Painting and a Photo Booth coordinated by Alumni Parent Susan Mcleroy and the launch of Cy-Fair’s first Tinker Fair, developed by Budding Engineers. The event also included a specialty Mocktail Bar, with custom drinks crafted by Mixologist Niel Ahuja, and a Book Fair led by parent volunteers.
We celebrated our school’s 20th birthday, and we served lunch to nearly 200 people. We had a lot of food and sang our students’ favorite Thanksgiving songs. We also collected over 300 cans to donate to Cypress Assistance Ministries.
Our Thanksgiving Lunch prep started early in the week. The students made yams, corn bread, green bean casserole, and more, applying lessons in measurement, chemistry, and counting. We also recognized some of our teachers’ work anniversaries – our teachers have been here a while!
Over 100 Cy-Fair and Cypress residents visited Montessori Preschool @ Copperfield for the 2016 Children’s Art Exhibit, a celebration of art and creativity in early childhood. The exhibit was officially opened by students at the school, and over 60 art pieces were on display, created using techniques inspired by global artists. Families were also invited to tour our Science Lab, where they explored the connections between art and science, creating LED puppets and racing remote controlled cars designed from toy bricks.
